Why do I need a web site? This is a question I hear almost every day. There are so many busineses that still do not understand the Internet and what it can do for their business. Therefore I decided to write a small article about what a website can provide businesses around the world.
To begin with, a web site is a very powerful marketing tool, and very affordable. Why is it a powerful marketing tool? Because you can have company information, frequently asked questions and answers, products and services information and much more available to clients 24 hours a day 7 days a week. That alone is very powerful. You can be at home having dinner and a potential client can be looking at your products or services.
To be able to provide customers with 24 hours customer service is a very important factor of having a web site. Sometimes customers don't want to wait till the morning to call and ask a simple question. With a web site they don't have to, they can log on and find the answers anytime.
A web site is also a professional image of your company. When potential customers are looking for services you offer online they will find your competitors, and you, if you have a web site. Many times what will help make the decision of which company to go with, many items play a role, such as design of web site, usability (user friendly web site), information, and customer service.
A web site should be easy on the eyes. The Internet is all visual, therefore, if the design of your site is poor, your potential customers may move on to the next site, which will probably be your competitor.
A web site should be rich in content. If your web site looks good, but has no information, your potential client is likely to move on to a site that provides detailed information on what they're looking for.
A web site should be user friendly. If you have a nice looking site, lots of content, but it's hard to navigate, your potential customers may get lost trying to find the information they're looking for, and move on to the next site.
There are so many reasons every business should have a web site, and if your business doesn't, then you're missing out on a great marketing opportunity, as well as convenient customer service.
To be continued ....

ok, so let's talk design here... no more interchange shopping carts on any site we ever develop!!!!!!! Got a PHP shopping cart, even though it requires curl, it works great. I do prefer having a simple "buy now" button, but I guess shopping carts now days have so many features and stuff it is not that simple anymore!! However, new shopping carts also have features which are very helpful, features I wished shopping carts had 3 years ago!!
Trying to get something accomplished with perl!! I do need 36 hours in one day!! Going to build a script that allows a visitor to recommend this site to a friend. It will be my very first shot at building a script in perl, so wish me luck!!! Alright, have a good weekend!!!

Yeap, I have to say, the sites we have completed this week are awesome! However, you forgot to mention www.area51depot.com which was a lot of work as well, with the Interchange shopping cart and all. Thanks to Kevin Walsh we were able to implement this shopping cart and meet our deadline!
How about a chat on here? Could be helpful for technical issues and concerns, maybe?

Now we're at the end of another week, and so we have completed another project. This one took longer than usual, but it was a major web site! This site sells hair products that prevent hair loss and promotes hair growth. The products really do work!! Our clients sent us samples and we have been using them, and noticed a hige difference. Hair loss has almost stopped completely!!! I am impressed. Anyways, the site is www.nutritrio.com and it is great! It is simple, not too many graphics, but it is very informative, and to the point, which is great!!
We have also completed another project which was a lot of work. And when I say a lot of work I mean a lot of work!! This site looks great though, and here at Hallow Web we're very proud of it!! This site is www.pavermax.com and it's all about brick pavers in South Florida. The pictures are great and this company offers great customer service. Check it out and enjoy!!!
Other than that not much else, since those two projects consumed us over here!! Anyone else got anything to add??? Have a great weekend!

This is the end of the week and the Hallow Web team has been extremely productive this week!! We have finished many projects that were pending, and continuing to work hard so finish other current projects.
Some of the projects we completed this week have been already mentioned here, including www.instantmillennialempires.com. Again, if you read the comments below about hallowwebdesign.com and you have any ideas or comments you'd like to share, please send it to admin@hallowwebdesign.com.
We also have finally launched a web site regarding targeted bulk email info and services. This site is very informational, and if you're looking for these type of services then you can visit the link above!!
We're also currently working on many search engine marketing projects, slowly but surely!!! I've been reading so much regarding search engines lately!!!! I'm search engined out!!!!!! So I ran across this article about MSN competing with Google. Does anyone think MSN has a chance??!!! Well, some projects we're working on include a web site offering CD duplication, DVD duplication, film transfer to dvd, video transfer, a web site offering home inspections, real estate inspections in south florida, a web site for a pilot, offering pilot training and licenses, and of course, working on our regular stuff, including our sites - hallowweb.com, hallowwebdesign.com, hallowwebproductions.com, etc.
I did find a tool that is pretty cool, it resizes IE to the resolution you choose (1024 x 768, 800 x 600, 640 x 480). This allows you to see what the site would look like in that particular resolution. It's not 100% accurate, but it does save some time and gives you a good idea. So I thought I'd share this tool, and if I could only find the link .... here we go http://www.brianapps.net/sizer.html
We also installed a shopping cart on a web site we're currently developing. The shopping cart used on this site is PHP, and at the same time some people really dislike PHP, I thought the shopping cart was pretty easy to install, and very user friendly. If anyone wants more info just send me an email!!
Well, I could go on and on, but it's already too long!!! Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Another project we have been working on is kind of an internal project since it's one of company web sites. For many moons now we have been trying to finish this site, which we have dedicated to web site design and graphic design only. You can visit it at www.hallowwebdesign.com
HWPI offers many different services, and sometimes our clients do get confused on our mother site (www.hallowweb.com) and so we have decided to contribute to the web and dedicate a site to web site design and graphic design alone. HWD is dedicated to businesses who do not understand why they should have a website, how it can benefit them, and design. We stress to our clients that design is also a very important factor in company image and marketing.
But having many projects on a deadline we have not been able to fully take advantage of the design and content of HWD. We are always open to ideas, and always looking for new articles of subject to pots on our sites. If you or anyone you know writes articles and would like some recognition, email us at admin@hallowwebdesign.com and we will be happy to post it. Also, any feedback on this site would be great!

Today we have completed the design of a web site. To view it you can visit www.instantmillennialempires.com
This site is offering many different ebooks, even some you can resell yourself. This project was a lot of fun and at the same time very time consuming. When we started working on this project many of the pages were "designed", which made the project a bit more time consuming. Instead of creating the pages we had to go and clean them. Whoever attempted to design this site prior to us unfortunately did not know much about web design.
I am proud to present that Instant Millennial Empires has been completed and is officially open for business!
Here is a little comment from our client: I am a happy customer! And it's great. I always push to do the very best I can to ensure happy customers!
